Gabriel Afonso

Hi, I'm Gabriel. I'm a software engineer from Germany, currently working as a consultant at ORDIX where I focus on fullstack development, Internal Developer Platforms and AI Engineering.

I got into programming through hardware projects: building a cocktail machine with a friend right after high school, then an industrial measurement system for a concrete brick factory that turned into a real company. Since then I've worked across the stack, from mobile app development to CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure, but I still get excited by the craftsmanship of good software.

I'm drawn to work that's been refined until it shines: the small project someone clearly obsessed over, the article where every sentence earns its place. I'm a perfectionist (even when it slows me down), a radical optimist about what we can build, and endlessly curious about how software systems, teams, and ideas actually work.

What I can't stand is low-effort noise. If I put something out there, I want it to be worth your time.

Outside the tech bubble, you'll usually find me out riding my gravel bike, hitting the slopes for some skiing (when it's winter), or just enjoying quiet moments away from the keyboard. Pretty typical stuff, I know... but I like it!
